Evening above beautiful Prague
After a hectic weekend (three days, a total of 3 hours of sleep and 800km behind the wheel) with the prospect of a work week filled with unpleasant decisions, I needed at least a little walk.
There was no time to go somewhere for an adventure. Thankfully, beautiful things and views really are everywhere and at every turn. So tonight was “just” a walk above beautiful Prague. St. Vitus Cathedral hidden behind the trees. A view of St. Nicholas Church just a few steps away. After a while, you are in the courtyard of Prague Castle, where you get a view of the whole of old Prague. The contrast of history in the form of the churches and the Zizkov TV tower in the background reminds you that time has not stood still. The larger-than-life statue of the first Czechoslovak president, Tomas Garrigue Masaryk, which seems to look down on Prague while overseeing the castle’s rule, exudes a pleasant calm.
Adventure doesn’t wait, but sometimes you don’t have to go far for it.
